Future readiness: OPC UA, AAS and the Digital Product Passport
Once the system is stable, I prepare it for Industry 4.0: OPC UA integration, Asset Administration Shell (AAS), and technical preparation for regulatory requirements such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
Process
- Prerequisite: a stabilized system. As long as releases are risky, a new interface only moves the problem outward.
- Goals: we clarify which data the system needs to provide for customers, machines, and regulatory evidence.
- Interface: OPC UA integration or Asset Administration Shell (AAS), started on one bounded use case.
- Evidence: preparation for requirements such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP), as far as regulation is settled today.
Result
- A working interface for a defined use case.
- A documented data model that carries over to further machines and products.
- A reliable statement of what is still technically missing for the Digital Product Passport.

Who it is not for
- Systems that do not yet run stably. Stabilization comes first.
- Full MES or ERP rollouts. I build the interfaces, not the third-party systems.
- Legal advice on regulatory requirements. I prepare the technical side; the legal assessment stays with you.
