Stabilizing an enterprise app during live operation

Stabilization of a widely used enterprise app while working with a multi-person development team.

Author: Oliver Fries Published: Updated:

Starting point

A widely used enterprise app needed to become more stable in day-to-day operation while remaining ready for further development.

What mattered

  • More than 300,000 monthly active users made controlled changes and close collaboration with the existing development team particularly important.

My contribution

I combined technical stabilization with modular architecture work and implemented the changes together with the multi-person development team.

My approach

  • The architecture was modularized so several team members could work on changes in parallel.
  • The platform was moved to .NET MAUI as a foundation for continued product development.

Outcome achieved

  • 60% fewer app crashes over 12 months

What this can mean for your project

  • Stabilization and continued development can work together when changes are controlled and architecture work is carried out with the team.
  • For your app, I align the next steps with usage, critical workflows, architecture, and team context.
